The Indian River Lagoon estuary is having issues - students play roles and research and argue thier roles as those having impacts on the estuary.

Webquest with role playing providing perspective on the issues at hand.

•  Facilitation - Introduced by teacher as a facilitator
•  Differentiation - Students must take the role they draw - it teacher needed to appoint special students to appropriate tasks, that could easily be arranged.
•  Relevance - Simulation of how business and commerce affect the environment
•  ^Thinking Skills - Role Playing, and Researching
•  Active Participation - Students must complete their portion and interact with each other to arrive at the final presentation.
•  Real World - EPA Issues are all about the real world.
•  Subject Knowledge - Emerses the students into the topic of business and the environment.
•  Assessment - Rubric that allows for individualism.

Lower level classrooms for the emphasis on biology, upper level classrooms for the emphasis on business and the environment; profitibility and government regulation.
